FREE Poetry Writing Workshop with BRIO Winner Sarah Stern

This workshop will meet January 28th from 11am-2pm in the

Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos Community College.

Are you a poet?  Do you scribble verse in a notebook when no one is watching?  Do you yearn to meet other poets and find support for your poetry habit?  Is 2012 the year that you will make your writing dreams into goals?

Emerging and beginning poets are encouraged to attend this FREE writing workshop led by an award-winning poet.

Sarah Stern, 4-time winner of the Bronx Council on the Arts' BRIO award, published poet and journalist, will lead the small group in discussion and writing exercises that will inspire and motivate.  Participants should bring a notebook and pencils.

Reservations are required.  Space is limited.

Sarah Stern’s first book Another Word for Love was just published by Finishing Line Press in May 2011. Her poems have appeared in magazines, anthologies, and online, and most recently in Epiphany and Verse Daily.  Sarah is a four-time winner of the Bronx Council on the Arts’ BRIO Award for Poetry. She received Honorable Mentions from the Anna Davidson Rosenberg Awards and Lilith Magazine’s Poetry Prize. She graduated from Barnard College and Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. Ms. Stern has worked as a journalist, editor, writer, and press officer. She lives with her husband and two children.
